For nearly two decades, Flippa Moggela has carried the crown as dancehall’s self-proclaimed “Flossing King.” Born Andrew Davis in Waterhouse, Kingston, the artist carved a lane that fused lavish lifestyles with traditional Jamaican rhythms, building a reputation for flamboyant performances and anthems that pushed dancehall into the global spotlight.

Now based in Pennsylvania, Flippa’s journey has taken a sharp turn toward reinvention. Since his release from prison in October 2022, he’s committed himself to a new chapter—rehabilitated, laser-focused, and determined to leave his mark once again on the international stage.

Flippa’s comeback hasn’t been quiet. His 2024 single Wah Gwaan Bout Yah Man secured him a No. 1 spot on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Singles Chart, a milestone that reaffirmed his staying power. The success continued into 2025, when his collaboration with Kiprich, Benz Pon Benz, surged to No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Music Video Chart shortly after its April release.

Both tracks were produced under his own Flip Money Records on the LV Riddim, proving Flippa isn’t just an artist but a label boss shaping his own narrative.

As he rides this renewed wave, Flippa is gearing up for the release of Mixed Feelings, a compilation album featuring contributions from respected names across the dancehall spectrum. The project is positioned as more than a playlist—it’s a statement of where Flippa stands today: battle-tested, creatively sharpened, and ready to expand his catalogue.

Few dancehall artists can claim two chart-topping comebacks in consecutive years after a career pause. Flippa’s story runs parallel to other global redemption arcs in music—think Gucci Mane’s post-prison reinvention in hip-hop or Buju Banton’s celebrated return to reggae. Like them, Flippa demonstrates how personal setbacks can set the stage for an even stronger rise.

And for fans of the Flossing King, the message is clear: the reign isn’t over. If anything, it’s entering its boldest era yet.
