On May 14, 2025, a Los Angeles judge granted actress and singer Halle Bailey a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), following allegations of physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse throughout their relationship and after their separation.
Bailey, known for her role in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid,” detailed several incidents in court documents, including a January altercation during a custody exchange, where she alleges DDG pulled her hair and slammed her face into a steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth. She provided photographic evidence of her injuries.
In March, DDG allegedly entered Bailey’s home without permission, sent her a photo of her bed with a suggestive message, and later smashed her Ring camera during a confrontation. Bailey also claims DDG has used his social media platforms to harass her, leading to online threats from his followers.
The restraining order mandates that DDG stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and their 17-month-old son, Halo, and prohibits him from contacting them through any means, including electronic communication. The court also granted Bailey temporary sole legal and physical custody of Halo, with supervised visitation for DDG limited to six hours weekly in Los Angeles.
A court hearing is scheduled for June 6, 2025, to determine whether the restraining order will be extended or modified. Bailey has also requested that DDG enroll in a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program and cease making public comments about her and their child.
DDG has not publicly responded to the allegations.
