From small-town dreams to pulsing dance floors, Roland Kieff—better known as DJ Roko—is bringing heart back to electronic dance music.
Growing up in the West Midlands with dyslexia and facing bullies at school, Roland found his voice through music. As a young boy, he taught himself keyboard, creating his own musical world when the real one felt too harsh. By 17, he was behind the decks, discovering his natural talent for reading crowds and lifting spirits.
“Music was my escape,” Roko says. “Now I want it to be that for others too.”
DJ Roko’s music blends nostalgic influences like Depeche Mode and Human League with modern EDM energy inspired by Calvin Harris and Tiesto. His tracks “Velocity” and “You Better” have each gathered over 30,000 Spotify streams, proving that perseverance pays off after early rejection from record labels.
What makes his sound special isn’t just the catchy beats or melodic layers—it’s the genuine emotion behind every track. Unlike producers chasing trends, Roko creates music that means something to him first.
“The most important thing is that I like what I do,” he explains. “It makes me feel good writing songs that hopefully everyone can appreciate.”

Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, DJ Roko balances his music career with being a husband and father. These personal connections fuel his creativity rather than hinder it, adding authentic emotional depth to his productions.
Fans can look forward to Roko’s upcoming full-length album “Anthem,” set for release on June 13, 2025. The project promises to deliver both instrumental and vocal tracks unified by Roko’s signature feel-good energy.
Beyond his album, DJ Roko is preparing to release “Eternally,” a special track benefiting Glasgow charity Cash for Kids. All proceeds will support underprivileged children—music with a mission.
